The UK-based SRAM & MRAM Group, in partnership with Big B Corporation and KAZIND Medical Group, has announced plans to establish Kazakhstan’s largest private healthcare facility. This ambitious project will provide quality healthcare, create jobs, and drive economic growth.
Landmark Development Across Astana and Almaty
The Kazakh government has leased 243 hectares in Astana and 100 hectares in Almaty to the joint venture for 99 years. This land will host a modern medical university, a state-of-the-art multi-specialty hospital, and a luxurious five-star hotel.
In 2023, SRAM & MRAM Group and Big B Corporation signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Kazakh government to bring this ambitious project to life.
Transforming Healthcare and Medical Education
The medical university will accommodate 10,000 students, making it one of the largest universities in Central Asia. The multi-speciality hospital will feature 1,000 beds to provide world-class healthcare services. The five-star hotel, with 500 rooms and restaurants with global cuisine will cater to medical tourists.
Dr. Sailesh Lachu Hiranandani, Chairman of SRAM & MRAM Group, emphasized the project’s scale, stating, “This will be Central Asia’s largest medical university and healthcare facility, setting a new benchmark in healthcare and education.”
A Boost for Kazakhstan’s Healthcare System
Ajay Bhandari, Director of Big B Corporation and KAZIND Medical Group, highlighted that the Kazakh government has allocated $5.4 billion to build 19 new hospitals and upgrade 50% of bed capacity through public-private partnerships or a design, build, operate, and maintain model.

Founded in 1995, the SRAM & MRAM Group is known globally for its expertise in public health solutions, emergency management, and technology. The Group operates in countries like Cambodia, South Africa, Indonesia, and India and has investments in luxury hotels in France and Brussels.
